npNEXT 2013

npNEXT was an experimental event to bring together experts and fundraising leaders from across the nonprofit sector to discuss emerging trends and next practices.  We wondered if we could get people to engage on important topics and elevate the conversation to the next level.

This past September 30th, Blackbaud hosted over 30 senior fundraising leaders from the largest charities in the US. And if their response to the event is any indication, then this experiment was a big success.

Why did we convene the group? Simple. The issues in the industry are profound. Nonprofits are under a lot of pressure. Demographic, economic and technological challenges are making it increasingly difficult to raise the money organizations need to meet the ever-increasing demand.

On the plus side, nonprofits have a number of unique assets, not the least of which is their willingness to share and collaborate. npNEXT was another opportunity to show how innovation and experimentation can help find ways to meet and overcome these challenges.

Blackbaud recorded the presentations and over the next few months we’ll be sharing them with the rest of the nonprofit sector.
