It’s a new year, so what better time to freshen up your charity’s social media strategy? Check out these 6 traps which nonprofits tend to fall in to, courtesy of Kristy Kosak at Media Cause.
- Using odd profile pictures. Best to stick to your charity’s official logo across all sites to ensure recognition.
- Bombarding people with too much promotional content.
- Sporadic posting. Keep it regular and encourage interaction.
- Shying away from dialogue. You have a chance to interact with supporteers and bring in new ones, so use it!
- Using an @ symbol before tweets as less people will see it.
- Sticking to what you know and ignoring new trends.
