Skills Platform signs up NCVO in new partnership

Skills Platform, the online skills marketplace and community for charities and social enterprises will have its roster boosted with the addition of up to 150 established and experienced charity consultants.

NCVO is to move its popular Approved Consultants Directory service to the site from March 2014.

Skills Platform, run by Skills Effect,  was funded by the UK Commission for Employment and Skills and launched on 2nd December. It aims to boost appetite and access to skills development opportunities such as skills transfer from consultants, traditional training, e-learning and informal skills sharing.

Consultants will have access to sophisticated web technology on the new site, allowing them to appeal to a much wider marketplace and to collaborate with each other and peer groups of consultants.

Graham Leigh, Director of Strategic Partnerships at Skills Effect, said:  “Our partnership with NCVO is all about promoting access to trusted skills support in the sector. We look forward to working with this established group of consultants to help them transform their web presence and their reach. The Platform will mean they can take online bookings and payments, form informal peer collaborations and set up a skills mini-site in minutes, potentially saving them thousands of pounds in web development. We’ll be here to help them every step of the way.”
